Leading up to the week of the Resonate Worship Conference, record snowfall, ice, and sleet hit the Dallas area. Prayers were sent up for all of those who were traveling in during this very rare change in climate.
For Resonate, snow and ice were very real obstacles that both participants and staff had to overcome. One of the Christ For The Nations worship leaders, Gabriel Allred, stated, “The experience wasn’t just handed to you. If you wanted it, you had to go after it.”
During the entire conference, a deep level of intimacy with the Father was clearly evident in attendees. There was a definite hunger for the Presence of the Lord. When asked, what was a surprise during the conference week, worship leader Benson Eapen recalled, “… the response during the worship time. We (the worship team) didn’t have to do anything. The people led out in worship.”
There are countless things that try to distract us from moments of worship—these unique moments which we have been created to participate in. People are enlisted in a spiritual battle for the focus of mind and heart. Our devotion is incredibly valuable, and is needed to be fought for on a daily basis. We have schedules, relationships, work, ministry, distracted minds, and sometimes snow and ice that become obstacles in our quality time with Jesus.
The Resonate Worship Conference was filled with beautiful interaction with the Lord and a desire to be overwhelmed in adoration for our God. Our faithful Father worked mightily during those four days. Eyes were opened as Ray Hughes explored how even sound waves were set by God for worship. Hearts responded to the depth of Rita Springer’s message about the call of God on her life to worship Him. The Artist Spotlight showcased the next generation’s yearning to step into the role of honest worshippers. Those who registered early submitted original songs and had the opportunity to meet with songwriters. These participants received practical criticism on their work to empower and equip them to be better writers. Breakout sessions provided an environment for worship leaders/pastors to be encouraged and to receive practical insights for the different roles in worship ministry.
The battle against wind and rain, or rather snow and ice, and many other obstacles, were conquered in the Name of Jesus! Participants, staff, and volunteers were changed at the Resonate Worship Conference.
We all have the responsibility to fight to worship, to resonate God’s work in us.
